An underground sump pump drain line can be prone to freezing however if it isn t deep enough so check with your local municipal office for the depth of the frost line in your area and install the sump pump line below the frost line.

I want to go over a few things.
On the upper end of this install a check valve.
Secure a short section of pvc pipe to the discharge port of the sump pump.
Look for a spot that will be easy to work in and where you can punch a hole through a rim joist to reach outside.
This piece of pipe should extend up and out of the sump pit.
At first check for the frost line depth in your area so you can install the discharge line below the frost line.
You ll want to place the sump near a wall in the basement since the sump pump discharge will need to exit the basement and travel at least 10 feet 3 0 m outside to discharge.
Though the installation process varies with the types of sump pumps you have to know the basic things like how deep should a sump pump discharge line be and how to route sump pump discharge.
Use pvc cement to secure the valve in place with a watertight seal.
